As you already know, the Wizard pays recurring commissions of 40% for

Here’s how it works (the same as last year for those affiliates who were around then). The contest will run for three months - from
March 1st 2010 to May 31th 2010. During that time, for every member
you sign up and that remains on as a fully paid member for 3 months or
more, we will pay you 100% of the membership price for the second month of
membership – plus you’ll get your normal 40% affiliate commission for
months 1 and 3, and of course for every month thereafter. How great is

The affiliate commissions will be paid out in this manner:

1. The normal 40% will be paid as per normal - one month in arrears. i.e.
at the beginning of May we will pay you for all your March signups.
This is normal practice so as to account for any refunds that might occur
during their first month of membership.

2. The extra 60% will be paid as a special bonus:

In June we will pay 60% on all your March signups that are still
members.

In July we will pay 60% on all your April signups that are still members.

In August we will pay 60% on all your May signups that are still members.

To put this into perspective, a while back, one of our affiliates signed
up 273 members in 24
hours from one mailing – ONE!

Let’s do the math on that using the promotion’s commissions:

(273 members) X (1st month 40% of $67 = $26.80 per member)
Total commission for month 1 = $7,316.40

(273 members) X (2nd month 100% of $67 = $67.00 per member)
Total commission for month 2 = $18,291.00

(273 members) X (3rd month 40% of $67 = $26.80 per member)
Total commission for month 3 = $7,316.40

The reason for this post is to inform you of a note passed on to us by the MAX article writing team about a new feature that many of you had been requesting.  Please have a look at the screenshot below.

This feature is a third keyphrase box when ordering articles with resource boxes.  It allows you to specify your a different keyphrase for your article apart from your targeted resource box keyphrases, if you so choose.

Therefore, for example, you can specify your article keyphrase to discuss ‘Toyota Tundra trucks’ in general, but then have the keyphrases in the resource boxes point to ‘Seattle Toyota Trucks’ and Seattle Toyota Dealers’.

If your main keyphrase for your article and one or both of your resource boxes keyphrases are the same, that is fine as well.

I know that the MAX team has been listening to your suggestions and taking them very seriously and will be implementing more requested features in the near future. Hello Wizard Members,

Well, after months of writing code, tweaking the system and creating training videos, the new Easy Wizards are finally here!

Well, almost.  Sunday night 9/20/09 we launch them, along with some upgrades and tweaks to the Advanced Wizards as well.

But we just wanted to give you a heads up and a few screen shots so that when you open the Wizard on Monday you won’t be going ‘Wow, when did they do this?’

The Easy Wizards are cool and available to everyone.  Basically what we have done is taken the Advanced Wizards that you already know and created step-by-step tools to not only walk new users through the Wizard, but also allow current users who don’t use all the features in the Advanced Wizards, a simpler interface.

There are both Step-by-step versions and a One-step Easy Wizard.  All are available from the drop down menu in the top left corner or from the main page.

So if you have been struggling using the features of the Advanced Wizards, feel free to give the Easy Step-by-step Wizard a go with one of your articles.  There are videos on every page that explain the best way to construct an article and why.  Even if you are comfortable with the Advanced Wizards, why not run through once and watch the videos.  You might pick up a tip or trick you hadn’t heard before.

Anyway, here are a couple of screenshots.

We hope you like the new look and the Easy Wizards.  We have some more cool features to add in the next month, so keep your eye out for those.

Hello Wizard Members (and anyone else who may stumble across this page),

This is just a quick heads up to let you know about a patch that Adobe has put out to fix a pretty serious bug in IE8.

If you are having trouble viewing videos online; or all of a sudden find out that some buttons don’t work on particular websites, it is probably because your flash plugin is not working properly.

As we use both IE and FF to test the Wizard to make it work, we found that 50% of our computers had this issue with the new release of IE8.  Some computers have this problem, some don’t.  Seems quite random.

In any case, if you are having problems with Flash or IE8 in general.  Give this a try.

As you no doubt have noticed in recent weeks and months, the economy - not
just in North America, but worldwide - has been interesting to say the
least.

And of course with this comes the ever present question of concerned
business owners - whether online or off - of what to do when the economy
does slow down.  Do I cut my advertising?  Do I scale back my marketing
efforts?  In short, how do I weather the storm?

Well, I just so happen to have an acquaintance who runs a 50 million
dollar a year enterprise and when I asked his opinion, here is what he had
to say.

“The simplest thing I was ever taught - whether good times or bad - was to
spend as much smart money as you can and at the same time eliminate as much
foolish spending as possible.  Of course this makes sense in any economic
situation; however it is much more prudent in slowing times to make sure
that careless spending does not completely erase our bottom line.

Yes it’s true that margins may shrink in some of our efforts, but the
important thing is that there are margins that remain.  Whatever you do -
DON’T stop what’s working.  Don’t stop advertising.  Don’t stop marketing.
Don’t stop getting your name out there.  Matter of fact, in a slowing
economy, you should be doing more.  Keep building up your brand or business
in good times and bad.  Get your name out there on a consistent basis
because the tough times won’t last forever and when things turn around, you
want to be poised and ready for growth, not in the position of having to
build up your business from scratch again.

As a business owner it is your responsibility to you, your family, your
employees and your customers to remain in business.  Do not get caught up
in a self fulfilling prophecy whereby business drops off, so you advertise
and market less and end up in a downward spiraling loop until suddenly you
are out of business.  Don’t get caught up in the media frenzy of doom and
gloom that thrives on sensationalism.”

And this last point he led me to a popular story you can find posted all
over the internet.  It sure rings true as to what’s happening today.

HOW TO KILL YOUR BUSINESS OVERNIGHT

During the 1930’s there was a man who lived by the side of the road and
sold hot dogs. He was hard of hearing, so he had no radio. He had trouble
with his eyes, so he read no newspapers. But he sold good hot dogs. He
stood at the side of the road and cried: “Buy a hot dog, mister?” And
people bought. He increased his meat and bun orders. He bought a bigger
stove to take care of his trade.

Business was so good he brought his son home from college early to help
him out. And his son said: “Father, haven’t you been listening to the
radio? Haven’t you been reading the newspapers? The European situation is
terrible. The domestic situation is worse.”

The father thought to himself, “Well, my son’s been to college, he reads
the papers and he listens to the radio — so he ought to know.” So the
father cut down his meat and bun orders, took down his signs, and no longer
bothered to stand out on the highway to sell his hot dogs. And his hot dog
sales fell almost overnight. The father said to the boy, “You’re right,
son, we certainly are in the middle of a great depression.”

Doesn’t that sound exactly like what is happening now?

So what should you do?  Keep doing what works.  Advertising works.  PPC
works.  JVs work.  And of course article marketing works.

Consistency is key.  Keep your articles going out.  Keep your name and
company in the spotlight.  People are still spending.  Give them the
reasons why they should spend it with you.  And to help your efforts become
more effective with very little effort, we have been feverishly working on
the BIGGEST upgrade in the Wizard’s history.  And although we can’t tell
you what it is quite yet, it will bring the Wizard - and of course, your
articles - firmly into the world of WEB 2.0.
